This page explains cookies, browser storage and related technologies associated with AdmitMe, including the distinction between reading an article, leaving a comment and following an affiliate link.

Last updated: 6 October 2026

1. Website operator and contact

Sam Roberts — AdmitMe

All enquiries: info@admitme.co.uk. We do not provide telephone support.

2. What these technologies do

A cookie is a small browser record. Local storage is another way to keep information on your device and does not necessarily have an automatic expiry. Scripts, images and embedded content can also send requests to another service even when no cookie is stored. Not every visitor receives every item described below: the page, your actions, browser settings and whether you are signed in matter.

3. WordPress features

  • Login checks: wordpress_test_cookie checks whether the browser accepts cookies. It is associated with the login process rather than being required to read an article.
  • Signed-in sessions: cookies such as wordpress_logged_in_* and wordpress_sec_* maintain authenticated access. Their lifetime depends on session settings and the remember-me choice. They are not advertising cookies.
  • Interface preferences: wp-settings-*, wp-settings-time-* and, where used, wp_lang support account preferences or the chosen login language. Language storage is session-based; other preference durations depend on WordPress settings.
  • Remembering comment details: the comment form offers an optional, initially unticked checkbox to save your name, email and website in your browser. The comment_author_*, comment_author_email_* and comment_author_url_* cookies normally last a little under a year. Leave the box unticked if you do not want these details remembered.

These are WordPress cookie families, not a statement that all are placed on an ordinary visitor’s device. See the WordPress cookie documentation for further explanation.

4. Hostinger Reach and external resources

The website loads Hostinger Reach’s form-embedding script from cdn-reach.hostinger.com. Loading it involves a connection to that provider. Where a Reach form is displayed, it can embed a form hosted by Hostinger and send form-view or submission events.

The version of the script reviewed on 6 October 2026 can use a local-storage key named reach_imp_ followed by a form identifier. It stores a timestamp to avoid counting the same form view repeatedly during a 30-minute counting window. That window is not an automatic deletion period: the local-storage record may remain until overwritten, cleared by the browser or removed by you. This item concerns an embedded Reach form, not every article read. Further storage inside an embedded form can depend on the form’s configuration.

Article photographs may be loaded from external image hosts or brand websites. The receiving host can receive your IP address, browser/request information and applicable referral information. Our Privacy Policy explains the associated information handling.

5. Affiliate links and merchant websites

Some articles link through Awin or to a retailer’s tracking destination. If you follow such a link, the network or retailer may use cookies or other identifiers to connect a referral with a later purchase and calculate commission. The details and duration depend on the particular network, advertiser and browser; there is no single cookie lifetime for every link on AdmitMe.

Read Awin’s privacy notice and its tracking information and choices, alongside the merchant’s own notice. An Awin-specific choice does not automatically control every other provider. You can also visit a retailer independently rather than use an affiliate link. Our affiliate disclosure explains the commercial relationship.

6. Your choices

Reading the site or accepting its terms is not, by itself, consent to optional advertising or other tracking that requires consent. Where consent is required, it must be obtained before the relevant technology is used. This information page is not a replacement for a working consent mechanism.

For comment preferences, use the checkbox on the comment form. For any choices displayed in an embedded form or on an external provider’s site, review the purpose before agreeing. Your browser settings can show and remove cookies and site storage, restrict third-party cookies or block particular resources. Removing stored information can sign you out or erase saved preferences; it does not necessarily delete information already received by a provider.

The technologies listed here describe the identified WordPress features, Reach script and referral activity. They are not a guarantee that every external service behaves identically in every browser. If you find a storage item you cannot identify, email us with the page address, item name and browser used, without sending authentication-cookie values.

7. Updates and questions

We will update this information when relevant services or settings change. For an explanation, a privacy request or a concern about tracking, email info@admitme.co.uk.
